CBN RESIN BOND SHARPENING STONES
150-25-5-2mm / 6''-1''-0.2''-0.08''
WE STOPPED PRODUCTION OF THESE STONES AND OFFER INNOVATIVE CBN STONES WITH COMBINED BOND: BETTER PERFORMANCE, LONGER TOOL LIFE AND LOWER COSTS.
We offer stock of these stones (100% and 200%) for SALE: 70pcs of each grain size (0.5/0 - 200/160).
Yet, we still continue maintaining some stock of these resin bond CBN stones.
CBN (cubic boron nitride) is a generic name, there are also other names of this material, depending on manufacturer: borazon, elbor, cubonite, etc.
CBN (cubic boron nitride) is the second-hardest material after diamond, and has the best price-performance ratio for processing steels, comparing to other materials, including diamond, silicon carbide or aluminum oxide.
Due to it's high resistance specs, CBN can be used dry without lubricant. This makes CBN the cleanest of the available sharpening stones.
Length: 150 mm = 6 inch
Width: 25 mm = 1 inch
CBN height: 2 mm = 0.08 inch - comparing with 3 mm of new stones
Total height (with blank): 5 mm = 0.2 inch - comparing with 7 mm of new stones

Special resin bond BN-130, does not require cooling, but you may use water (or water based cooling liquids) as lubricant.
Metal bond on order
Grain size: Please select from the list, or read Technical information.
Grain concentration: 100% and 200%
Flat solid block on aluminum blank.
Available on stock
Application
For knife sharpening using such sharpeners as Hapstone or Edge Pro.
Preparation of sharpening stones
Stones with grits finer 3 microns either require preparation (dressing), or they will be self-polished after sharpening of 30-50 knives. Then they will be of gold color and work well.
This is common issue for all manufacturers: abrasive grains are covered with bond, so you need to "release" them.
"Stone preparation" is not available because of war.
Selection of SiC powders for dressing of sharpening stones
Use and cleaning of CBN sharpening stones
Use any comfortable oil (baby, olive..) to prevent glazing. If glazed - clean with alcohol and toothbrush.
Maintenance (in 1-2 year), flattening/revitalization:
- resin bond stones - with silicon (silica) carbide powders on glass plate,
- metal bond stones - with FeCl.
There are other methods (with SiC powders..), but method with FeCl, on glass plate is the cheapest and simplest.
You may buy 100 gr. of FeCl in grain selection window. I sell it if you buy a stone.
