This  wurtzite boron nitride powder was manufactured by shock compression (explosion synthesis on military facility) of hexagonal boron nitride.

Application:  anti-stick coatings, dry lubricant, high temperature resistant additive, synthesis of superhard materials.
These powders may be added to plastics, potting compounds, oils, greases and other materials to provide enhanced thermal conductivity and dielectric strength.

  Wurtzite boron nitride has a potential for manufacturing of advanced electronic devices, because such its properties as  as a wider band gap, higher thermal conductivity, and larger spontaneous polarization, are superior to Gallium nitride (GaN) and Aluminium nitride (AlN). 
Incorporation of a few percent of B in AlN and GaN is an important perspective in strain engineering and  developing deep UV emitters
