Monocrystalline diamond powder.
Micron diamond powders (grain size below 40 micron) are monocrystalline by default. Yes. they may be obtained by milling of polycrystalline diamonds, but this hardy makes their crystal structure "poly", read more below.
Synthesis of polycrystalline diamonds: monocrystalline powders are pressed in a capsule, which then is exposed to high temperature and high pressure (HTHP synthesis), resulting, for example, in cutting inserts.
Synthesis of monocrystalline diamonds: graphite powder and catalyst are pressed in a capsule, which then is exposed to high temperature and high pressure (HTHP synthesis).
To receive really polycrystalline diamonds you need to use ultrafine micron powders (0.1/0 micron), obtained on super centrifuges in small amounts, because of high cost and comparatively low demand (e.g. for polishing of mirrors in space industry), so resulting crystals will be real agglomerates. But if you use powder 40 micron to make polycrystal and then mill it, you will receive powder containing monocrystals 40 micron and finer, but not polycrystalline powder.
Milling of polycrystalline diamonds for pastes does not make sense considering extra work and no benefits. Although defective diamond polycrystals are definitely milled. Fairy tales about "more cutting surfaces per particle" of diamond "micron polycrystal" were true about spiky diamond mono crystals synthesized on soviet presses long ago in a country far away. Presses, utilized now (American belt presses in South African E6 and Chinese cubic presses elsewhere) do not deploy synthesis profiles to make similar crystals. (Of course there are expensive exceptions :) )

Application
For sharpening of curved blades using such sharpeners as Hapstone, Edge Pro, Kazak Pro.
Stones with grits finer 3 microns either require preparation (dressing), or they will be self-polished after sharpening of 30-50 knives. Then they will be of gold color and work well.
This is common issue for all manufacturers: abrasive grains are covered with bond, so you need to "release" them.
"Stone preparation" is not available because of war.

Use and cleaning of CBN sharpening stones
Use any comfortable oil (baby, olive..) to prevent glazing. If glazed - clean with alcohol and toothbrush.
Maintenance (in 1-2 year), flattening/revitalization:
- resin bond stones - with silicon (silica) carbide powders on glass plate,
- metal bond stones - with FeCl.
There are other methods (with SiC powders..), but method with FeCl, on glass plate is the cheapest and simplest.
You may buy 100 gr. of FeCl in grain selection window. I sell it if you buy a stone.

Preparation of sharpening stones
Unlike other sharpening stones, most of these combined bond stones do not need preparation, except stones with grits finer 1 microns (<Grit 15000). Ultrafine grains (1/0, 0.5/0) form agglomerates in a bond, so you may need to dress them with abrasive powders/pastes, or they will be self-polished after sharpening of 30-50 knives.

SHARPENING STONES
150 х 35 х 7 x 3 x 4
CBN (cubic boron nitride) is a generic name, there are also other names of this material, depending on manufacturer: borazon, elbor, cubonite, etc.
CBN (cubic boron nitride) is the second-hardest material after diamond, and has the best price-performance ratio for processing steels, comparing to other materials, including diamond, silicon carbide or aluminum oxide.
Due to it's high resistance specs, CBN can be used dry without lubricant. This makes CBN the cleanest of the available sharpening stones.

RECOMMENDED SETS OF DIAMOND AND CBN STONES, METALL AND COMBINED BONDS
Recommended selections of sharpening stones to make your choice easier:
- Highlight your operations: do you have "forming cutting edge" operation ? What surface quality do you need, just "nice at eyesight" (polishing) or mirror (the finest polishing). So skip sets with unnecessary grains.
- What is your workload ? If from time to time - skip metal bond stones, they are more expensive, but lasts longer.
- CBN combined bond stones are recommended for all types of steels;
- The more knives you sharpen, the more you need stones, to keep steps in working operations (distances between grain sizes) shorter.

Bonds
Metal bond: M2-01, copper-tin
Combined bond: composition depends on grain size, does not require cooling, but you may use water (or water based cooling liquids) as lubricant.
Grain size: Please select from the list, or read Technical information. The finest grain size is 0.5/0 micron (fine polishing) , the coarsest - 200/160 micron (rough grinding).
In grain selection window you see grain sizes according to standards:
MICRON = MESH(GRIT) = FEPA
Grain concentration: 100%
Do not waste your money on cheaper stones with lower/unknown concentration.
Available on stock
Application
For knife sharpening using such sharpeners as Hapstone, Edge Pro. etc.
Preparation of sharpening stones
Stones with grits finer 3 microns may require preparation (dressing), or they will be self-polished after sharpening of 30-50 knives. Then they will be of gold color and work well.
This is common issue for all manufacturers: abrasive grains are covered with bond, so you need to "release" them.

These next generation stones were developed on the basis of our experience in sharpening business:
- solid support plate (thicker aluminum blank: 4 mm vs. competitors' 3 mm);
- appropriate bonds (selected, depending on grain size)
- combination of long life, delicate sharpening, and excellent performance of combined(metal-resin) bonds.
Concentration 100%.
Flat solid block on aluminum blank, grains are distributed evenly across the stone.
Material: CBN - cubic boron nitride. It has the best cost/productivity ratio for processing of steels, comparing to diamond and cheaper stones, they are similar in qualities to Japanese wet stones, but have ten times longer working life. CBN is a generic name, there are also other names of this material, depending on manufacturer: borazon, elbor.

Description of products in this set.
CBN (cubic boron nitride, borazon) stones are well known for high hardness and resistance to high temperatures and various chemical components of alloys and steels.
Comparing CBN and diamond grains, we must admit, that CBN works softer and more productively, while at the same time it does not cause yellowing scratches on the cutting edge. This is due to the fact that CBN has a crystal structure in the shape of an eyepiece - the number of cutting edges is greater with less sharp corners - resulting in softness during processing and high productivity. Diamond has a crystal structure in the form of a tetrahedron, with fewer cutting edges and sharper corners of the crystal, which leads to more "aggressive" work of the diamond
The following grains are available(please contact us to change set content): 0.5/0; 1/0; 2/1; 3/2; 5/3; 7/5; 10/7; 14/10; 20/14; 28/20; 40/28; 50/40; 63/50; 80/63; 100/80; 125/100; 160/125; 200/160; 250/200; 315/250.
Italian Black Slate - has good finishing properties, which are close to dark Thuringian shales, but Italian Black Slate is a little harder, which is undoubtedly an advantage when working in apexoid type sharpeners. The slate gives a very moderate fine white suspension. It works with all steels, removing scratches on the cutting edge, and exposing their structures, adding sharpness.
152 mm — length, 25 mm — width, 7 mm — total thickness,
4 mm - the thickness of the working layer, 3 mm - thickness of the aluminum blank.
Superfinishing stone, it is recommended to switch to it after abrasive with a grain of at least F1000-F2000, or superabrasive (CBN, diamond) 5/3, 3/2, 2/1, 1/0
Each stone is equipped with a slur (a small stone for guiding the suspension). The recommended lubricants/coolants are water, oil.
Quality Italian leather on aluminum blank — polished and does not require additional processing. It is used for applying polishing paste and further sharpening the cutting edge of the knife. It can also be used without paste.
Length: 160 mm, Width: 25 mm, Thickness: 7 mm
Linden on a aluminum blank - for applying polishing paste and polishing the cutting edge of the knife.
Length: 160 mm, Width: 25 mm, Total thickness: 7 mm, The thickness of the aluminum blank - 3 mm.
Recommendations on selection of sharpening stones
How to maintain sharpening stones
Preparation of sharpening stones
Stones with grits finer 3 microns either require preparation (dressing), or they will be self-polished after sharpening of 30-50 knives. Then they will be of gold color and work well.
This is common issue for all manufacturers: abrasive grains are covered with bond, so you need to "release" them.
"Stone preparation" is not available because of war.

Use and cleaning of CBN sharpening stones
Use any comfortable oil (baby, olive..) to prevent glazing. If glazed - clean with alcohol and toothbrush.
Maintenance (in 1-2 years), flattening/revitalization:
- resin bond stones - with silicon (silica) carbide powders on glass plate,
- metal bond stones - with FeCl.
There are other methods (with SiC powders..), but method with FeCl, on glass plate is the cheapest and simplest.

SHARPENING STONES
CBN (cubic boron nitride) is a generic name, there are also other names of this material, depending on manufacturer: borazon, elbor, cubonite, etc.
CBN (cubic boron nitride) is the second-hardest material after diamond, and has the best price-performance ratio for processing steels, comparing to other materials, including diamond, silicon carbide or aluminum oxide.
Due to it's high resistance specs, CBN can be used dry without lubricant. This makes CBN the cleanest of the available sharpening stones.

Use and cleaning of CBN sharpening stones
Use any comfortable oil (baby, olive..) to prevent glazing. If glazed - clean with alcohol and toothbrush.
Maintenance is only needed every year or two.
In 1-2 years you may need to flatten stone, 20 mins with Ferric chloride (FeCl):
- 10 mins setting in 25% mixture (25 gr FeCl per 75 gr of water),
- 10 mins polish movements (carefully draw "8") on glass plate.
There are other methods (with SiC powders..), but method with FeCl, on glass plate is the cheapest and simplest.
You may buy 100 gr. of FeCl in dimensions selection window (click also any grain size to select it). I sell it if you buy a stone.
